Clare trained with KPMG, qualified in 1990, and quickly discovered that teaching accountants was more fun than auditing them. Clare left a senior role at Kaplan in 2012 with a bold idea that accountancy training could be better, more flexible, more personal, and way more engaging. She co-founded HTFT, built around the flipped classroom model.
With a background in audit and financial reporting, Clare combines deep technical knowledge with a genuine passion for innovative education. Oh, and she recently became the first-ever recipient of the ‘Hall of Fame’ award at the 2025 PQ Awards, well deserved, and long overdue.
As a Director at HTFT, David combines strategic leadership with a hands-on commitment to student success. With years of experience in professional education, he has built and led high-performing teams, developed innovative programmes, and forged strong links with awarding bodies. But it’s in the classroom where his impact is most felt, his ability to break down complex ideas and support students through their exam journey is second to none. David heads up the ACCA courses for HTFT and leads by example, balancing his managerial role with a genuine passion for teaching and a focus on helping learners achieve their goals.
Alex started her career in practice with Deloitte and Grant Thornton before bringing her real-world experience into education. Since joining HTFT in 2019, she’s been the engine behind the scenes, keeping everything running smoothly while still finding time to teach. Organised, approachable and quietly unstoppable, Alex combines a sharp mind for operations with a genuine passion for helping learners succeed. Whether she’s streamlining systems or simplifying tricky accounting concepts, she does it with energy, empathy and just the right amount of caffeine. If it works at HTFT, chances are Alex had something to do with it.
Danielle, known to most as Danni began her accountancy career as an apprentice, having left school at 16. By 21, she was a member of both AAT and ACCA. After more than a decade in practice, she transitioned into education, bringing a wealth of experience with her.
At HTFT Partnership, Danni teaches Business Analysis, Law, and Strategy, but her impact goes far beyond the classroom. As HTFT’s Finance Director, she gets a chance to practice what she preaches.
Pragmatic, thoughtful, and quietly driven, Danni believes her real-world experience brings the subject to life making it more relatable, engaging, and easier for her students to understand.
Angela joined HTFT in 2021, bringing with her a career that spans tax advice, teaching, and running her own business. From heading up finance at West Suffolk College to wrangling with Xero, she now oversees HTFT’s apprenticeship programmes and all things tech. Equal parts organised and entrepreneurial, she’s got a knack for solving problems before they become problems. If it involves numbers, planning or technology, Angela’s probably already two steps ahead, likely with a spreadsheet open and a coffee in hand.
