CIMA – The Future of Finance

As we found out last week (officially), CIMA are redesigning their Professional Qualification syllabus to reflect the changing face of the finance function.
Over the last 18 months, CIMA have systematically collected individual, personal and organisational ‘rules-of-thumb’ and built them into a composite picture of what the finance function in a digital world looks like.
Through scientific study, the many rule-of-thumb working methods have been turned into laws, formulas and new ways of thinking. These changes are reflected in the competencies and mindset that employers will in future expect of a professionally qualified management accountant in the digital world.
The result of this is a change in the 2019 syllabus, which becomes examinable from November 2019.
What does this mean for you, and what do you need to know?
CIMA have created a suite of webpages full of useful information, and the homepage can be accessed here: The Future of Finance
From the homepage you will be able to:
CIMA have even built a transition planning tool: Transition Planning
We would recommend taking a look at the above information to help you plan your transition to the 2019 syllabus. Our early advice is to aim to clear your current level by November 2019 – this allows you to start 2020 under the new syllabus.
If you want any advice or guidance on the changes and how they may affect you, please email
Many thanks
